About the Author
John C. Philips, an avid reader of historical fiction, decided to use his extensive knowledge
of his family’s Anderson genealogy to write a fictional story about his ancestor, William
Anderson. He was born in Washington, D.C., raised in Bethesda, Maryland and graduated
from Catawba College in 1952. After serving in the army, he received a second degree in
chemistry from the University of South Carolina and then embarked upon a forty-year
career as a process engineer. He has three children, two step daughters, seven
grandchildren and resides in Las Vegas, Nevada with his wife, Harriette.
